Instructions for PVRC Donation to ARRL Development Office for the Education & Technology Fund and its Teachers Institute
How to use the ARRL on-line donation page for paying by credit card:
- If you have an ARRL online account and are logged in, then your name and address information will be automatically filled in as you complete the donation form. So you may want to log in first.
- Go to this ARRL page for step one of two: https://home.arrl.org/action/Donate/Donate-Now/CashProductId/2030542406
- You must fill in an amount for your donation equal to or greater than $10 before being allowed to proceed to step two, but no other information is required at this step. When done entering information here, then click “Donate Now” at the bottom of the page.
- You should now be on the next page, step 2. If you want to receive the Education & Technology Patch as a gift with your donation, please enter Promo Code EDU23.
- Fill out any information and credit card data marked as required. When done, click on “Submit”
- you’re done.
Or, if you wish to donate by mailing a check (or by mailing your credit card info):
- Then print and fill out the donation form found here https://www.arrl.org/arrl-donation-print-form check the box on the form for the “Education & Technology Program” and mail it to the address on the form with your check made out to “ARRL Education & Technology Program” (optional: with a note in the check’s ‘memo’ space for the “Teachers Institute”)
This is the way you would donate if using a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) as the IRS describes it here: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/qualified-charitable-distributions-allow-eligible-ira-owners-up-to-100000-in-tax-free-gifts-to-charity
American Radio Relay League, Inc. is an IRS-designated 501(c)(3) organization holding federal tax identification # 06-6000004. Contributions to ARRL funds are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. https://www.arrl.org/donate-to-arrl
Note the IRS.gov database search for IRS-designated 501(c)(3) organizations (https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/) shows “American Radio Relay League Inc.” as the exact name (what is inside the quotation marks), no other spelling will result in a successful search (i.e. do include the period, do not include a comma…). So if you want to be absolutely clear to an auditor that your donation was to an IRS recognized charity, then you may want to make the check out to: American Radio Relay League Inc.
This is a must-see interview of a Teacher who went through the ARRL instruction and praises the learning experience and the results he has achieved with the kids he has taught, including that over the course of one year one teacher (him) in the one school on Staten Island, has resulted in over 100 new licensed Amateur Radio operators. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHWk60elEyY
